Cartel Brings Back the Weithaga
We will be featuring coffee from the Weithaga washing station in Kahuro, Kenya for the second year in a row. Again, it is a coffee from many extremely small farms and consists of SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, and Batian varieties from 1700 – 1900 meters above sea level.
Kenya has established a reputation for producing some phenomenally clean, juicy, and fruit-forward coffees in recent years. Washed Kenyas, like this Weithaga, get their characteristic acid profile in part from an extra freshwater soak the beans undergo during processing.
